Being Helpful and Getting Help

For everyone:

Keeping children SAFE is our HIGHEST PRIORITY. If you are concerned that a child might be in danger, go to Stop It NOW or contact your local police.

Whenever the subject comes up, make it a point to mention that pedophiles don’t choose their sexual orientation, that they can’t change it, that there are lots of pedophiles who never have sexual contact with children, and that to despise such virtuous pedophiles is unfair and unhelpful.

For anyone who relates to pedophiles personally, especially therapists, see us as people with painful life problems rather than as mere potential sex offenders. By all means, help us stay on the right side of the law, but help us lead happy, rewarding lives as well.

Spread the word; let people know about our web site.

If you are a pedophile:

DO NOT HAVE SEXUAL CONTACT WITH A CHILD. If in any doubt, avoid being alone with children who you find attractive so as to avoid temptation.

If you feel that you could use help from a mental health professional, find a competent therapist.

We do not have personal knowledge of the professionals affiliated with any organizations below, but they should provide a good place for you to start your search.

Most jurisdictions have laws that require therapists to report men who are attracted to children if the therapist believes that the person is a danger to children. Before revealing your personal situation, you should ask your therapist about the conditions under which he or she would break confidentiality and notify the police or others. You should be able to ask confidentiality-related questions over the phone before making an appointment or even revealing your name.
